5 Top Summer Camps for Boys and Girls

Writer: Jeff TaulbeeJeff Taulbee

It’s time for summer camp!

Vicki and I have three children, two boys, and one girl. We are so thankful to live in an area with great learning opportunities for all ages in the summer. Here are seven summer camps we have found to be fun for all ages, interests, and genders!

Our children have attended U-Games for three years and they love the activities, counselors, and games. It is a high energy week of sports, character development, and fun. Discovery Church combines the lessons of VBS with the skill development of sports camp for a week your kids will not forget. Registration has not begun for U-Games yet, but keep an eye on the church website for details.

Mead knows how to camp! This summer let your children (ages 5-12) explore Florida’s great outdoors at The Nature Camp. Children will experience a week of amazing animal interactions and summer camp activities including animal-themed games, crafts, nature walks, STEM activities, expert animal speakers, and more. This camp fills up quickly as families return year after year.

Brown’s Gym is a gymnasium that transforms into a Summer Fun Camp during June, July, and August. They offer everything from Ninja Camp to ballet and kids of all ages can experience a great week!

If you are looking for an indoor camp during the hot summer months, Orlando Museum of Art offers relaxed learning in a creative and supportive environment.

Lake Highland wins the prize for the most unique camps in Orlando. With classes for students such as cooking, jewelry making, robotics, and even a camp called, “Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” this camp has everything. If your family has a chef, athlete, and an artist, you can meet all their needs in one location.
